Mobile device management statistics2026

A closer look at the numbers shaping mobile work. Five figures on security, visibility and deployment scale, with the context to use them well.

Security & visibility

Three findings from Verizon’s 2025 Mobile Security Index survey.

April 2025 survey · 762 respondents

Security needs to be demonstrable.

84% of respondents said a client, partner, regulator or insurer had asked their organization to demonstrate its mobile security maturity.

Reported experience, not a requirement for every organization.

Visibility is still a challenge.

45% of respondents said missing or incomplete data made shadow IT activity difficult to detect.

Mobile & fleet scale

A global estimate and one published Android Enterprise deployment. Each measures something different.

2026 report estimate · Worldwide

Mobile reaches billions of people.

GSMA’s 2026 report estimates 5.8 billion unique mobile subscribers worldwide, approximately 70% of the global population.

Includes consumer and business subscribers. This is not a count of devices, Android users or managed fleets.

September 2025 · BBVA’s reported fleet

One organization, a substantial Android fleet.

BBVA reported centrally managing more than 100,000 Android devices in a September 2025 account published by Google.

An Android Enterprise customer example, not a Nomid customer claim or a typical fleet size.
