Enrollment is how a device becomes yours to manage. Nomid supports every method Android offers: QR codes for on-site setup, email or SMS links for remote workers, zero-touch for hands-free factory provisioning, and USB enrollment via Nomid Ops for VR headsets. Zero-touch setup allows devices to automatically configure themselves when first powered on, with no user interaction required. You pre-register device IMEIs with Google's zero-touch portal, and when the device connects to the internet for the first time, it automatically downloads your configuration.
Absolutely! You can mix setup methods within the same organization. For example, use zero-touch for company-owned devices, QR codes for on-site deployments, and setup links for BYOD scenarios.
All setup methods use secure, encrypted connections. QR codes and setup links use token-based authentication to ensure only authorized devices can enroll. Zero-touch setup requires device authentication through Google's secure infrastructure.
If setup fails, the device will display an error message with troubleshooting steps. You can also retry setup or use an alternative method. All setup attempts are logged in your dashboard for tracking.
Yes! You can configure setup profiles that determine which policies, apps, and settings are applied during setup. You can also customize the setup welcome screen with your company branding.
QR code setup takes about 2 minutes. Setup links take 3-5 minutes. Zero-touch setup happens automatically on first boot and takes 5-10 minutes depending on the number of apps being installed.
