Zebra Enterprise Browser managed configuration for Android

Enterprise Browser runs web apps on Zebra devices. From version 5.0 its settings can arrive as managed configuration instead of a Config.xml file. This page lists the keys Zebra documents in its Managed Configuration guide, with the bundle that holds each one. Zebra says the full set of settings is only available through Config.xml, so check that guide before you rely on a setting that is not listed here.

Questions

Zebra Enterprise Browser on managed Android

What is Zebra Enterprise Browser's package name on Android?

com.zebra.mdna.enterprisebrowser. Zebra's own guide uses this name in the folder where the configuration file is stored.

Can I use Config.xml and managed configuration together?

No. Zebra says that deploying settings with either method overwrites the other. When a managed configuration is deployed, Enterprise Browser creates a new Config.xml with only those values, and all other parameters revert to defaults. Settings that are not available as managed configuration still need the Config.xml method.

Do managed settings apply immediately?

New settings apply the next time Enterprise Browser launches. If a running app detects a change it shows a restart-required message. The app also needs to be installed and launched once before a configuration can be applied.

Which devices support it?

Zebra's guide lists Zebra devices on Android 11 or later and Enterprise Browser 5.0 or newer, plus an MDM that supports managed configuration for this app.
